Want to get outside on a First Day Hike, but don’t feel like doing a long trail? Come explore Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park and take a self-guided tour. Stroll the path around the parade ground, explore historical buildings, and imagine what a New Year’s Day might have been like 150 years ago!

The gift shop and some historical buildings will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

2026 park permits are required for park entry and are available at the front desk. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the Post Headquarters while they last!
