Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas Field Training at Wildcat Hills SRA

June 24, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Join Xerces Society in the field to celebrate Pollinator Week and learn how to participate in the Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas! The Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas is a statewide community science project that tracks and conserves our native bumble bees. Anyone is welcome to join the Atlas, no experience is needed, just a drive to help conserve pollinators!

At this field training, Xerces Society staff will teach the basics of participating–from swinging nets to identifying your bees. These events are a great way to learn how to use your insect net, collect data according to project methods, identify local bumble bees, connect with fellow volunteers, and get any lingering questions answered!

The Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas is coordinated by the Xerces Society and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, and is supported by the USFWS’s Wildlife, Sport Fish and Restoration Program.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Mountain Time.
