The Victorian era (1837-1901) ushered in a unique host of styles and traditions as well as significant social, economic, political changes, and expansion of a class-based society. Some of these traditions will be the highlights of our Victorian Era Living History on October 11-12 at Arbor Lodge.

Demonstrations and displays will include Victorian Mourning customs; China Painting; the Language of the Fan, calling cards, and etiquette; Victorian clothing and makeup; parlor games, quilting and more.

Sally Jost will entertain guests with Victorian-era piano music on Saturday. Laurie Collingham will play beautiful harp music on Sunday afternoon.

The mansion will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arbor Lodge is a member of the Nebraska City Museum Association, providing free admission for local residents.
