Learning how to prepare for adventures (expected or unexpected) without modern conveniences is a worthy challenge. This camp will teach participants essential skills that will come in handy when something doesn’t go according to plan, or might be particularly fun to try on a camping trip.
Participants will gain knowledge useful for single day outdoor trips, more extended hiking excursions, and/or travel emergencies.
Topics covered include fire building, hunting skills, outdoor cooking, water resources, hiking, shelter building, essential supplies, and first aid.
If extended care* options are not selected, drop-off is no earlier than 15 minutes before camp and pick-up is no later than 15 minutes after.
*Extended care is available for participants needing to be dropped off earlier than 8:15 am and/or picked up after 4:15 pm. Extended care is $5 per morning or evening, and offers the opportunity for quiet self-guided activities. Participants may bring meals/snacks, books, etc.
