Start the new year off with a First Day Hike at Platte River State Park!

Meet at 9 a.m. at the Walter Scott Lodge next to the red tower and join our Park Naturalists for a hike to Stone Creek Falls. Following the hike, warm up by the fireplace with hot cocoa, coffee and donut holes.

This year we are doing a hat and scarf theme, so wear your silly, bright, cozy, hygge, hand-made, fuzzy, furry, warm and wonderful hats and scarves!

Prepare for your winter hike:  dress in layers, wear a hat, bring a warm/insulated water bottle and check the forecast.

Programs may be altered depending on the temperature and/or trail conditions. Please call ahead if there are weather advisories in the area.

A 2025 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park entrance.
