Ring in the new year in the great outdoors with a guided first day hike at scenic Chadron State Park! Meet at group event building at 10 a.m. on New Years Day for a hike on the Cabin Trail. After the hike, meet back at the building for hot cocoa and cookies.

Participants should dress for the weather and remember to bring snacks and water, and binoculars, if desired. Friendly pets are allowed on a six-foot leash.

A valid 2026 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park.
