SUMMARY:PIKE: Naturalist-Led Hike at Ponca State Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a monthly PIKE — a Naturalist-led group hike — at beautiful Ponca State Park! \nMeet at the West Shelter at 10 a.m. and enjoy the scenic views\, native wildlife\, and fellowship until 12:30 p.m. Along the way\, Naturalists will talk about the cultural and natural history of the park and the flora and fauna found in the area. The trail will end with a warm fire and fresh baked dessert in a dutch oven. A perfect mix of fresh air\, nature\, and a sweet treat! \nCost: $15 per person (card only) \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED – Spots are limited and you must pre-register and pay by calling the park office at 402-755-2284. PIKEs are currently scheduled every second Saturday from Jan. 10 to Dec. 12\, 2026. \nA valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park entrance or online.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a spooky good time at Ponca State Park for the 28th Annual Hallowfest on Saturdays\, Oct. 10 and Oct. 17! Both weekends\, October 10 and 17 will have daytime education programs like pumpkin archery and critter corner\, cabin and campsite decorating contest\, and trick or treating in the campgrounds! \n  \nActivities\nSaturday\, Oct. 10 – Haunted Hayrack Rides\nReserve your spot to take a haunted evening hayrack ride on Saturday\, Oct. 10. Rides will take place from 6:30 to 11 p.m.\, beginning every five minutes. The public can begin making their reservations on Monday\, October 5 at 9 a.m. by visiting or calling the park office or purchasing the tickets (available beginning Oct. 5) online at this link. Reservation-only; no walk-ins will be accepted. \nPayment details: $12 for ages 13 and older\, $9 for ages 3-12\, and no charge for ages 2 and under. Reservations can be made for a maximum of 12 riders or full hayracks (25 people) are $275. Payment is required at the time of your reservation and no refunds are available unless the event is canceled. Payment can be made over the phone with card only. Cash\, card or check will be accepted at the park. Tickets will be emailed and must be shown at the time of the event. \n  \nSaturday\, Oct. 17 – Halloween Family Fun\nJoin us for the famed pumpkin roll\, s’mores\, games\, food\, pumpkin carving\, pet parade and more on Saturday\, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.! SUMMARY:Full Moon Hike at Ponca State Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Ponca State Park Naturalists on the Corps of Discovery Trail to watch the moon rise!  \nMeet at the Riverfront Playground for guided hikes (approximately one hour) along the beautiful wooded trails. These hikes will include some steep inclines and are considered moderately challenging. Hikers are encouraged to bring water and snacks. \nHandheld flashlights will be provided. Guests can bring their own headlamps or flashlights if they prefer. \nHike are scheduled for following dates and times: \nApril 1 at 7:30 p.m.\nMay 1 at 8:45 p.m.\nMay 31 at 9:45 p.m.\nJune 29 at 9:15 p.m.\nJuly 29 at 9 p.m.\nAugust 27 at 7:45 p.m.\nSeptember 26 at 6:45 p.m.\nOctober 25 at 5:45 p.m.\nHike may be cancelled due to weather or staffing. Please call the park office at 402-755-2284 to confirm. \nA valid state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.
