SUMMARY:Intro to 5-Stand Clay Shooting at Platte River State Park
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy shooting clays? Never tried 5-Stand? Join us for our Introduction to 5-Stand Clay Shooting at the Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park! \nYou will learn all about the shooting sport 5-Stand\, which consists of shooting 25 shells from five different shooting stands. Each participant will partake in two rounds (25 shells each round). There are five clay throwers with one shooting clays from the left\, one from the right\, one incoming\, one outgoing\, and one traditionally placed in front. \nPrior shotgun and firearm knowledge is preferred but not required. See our Introduction to Trap class on July 10 if you would like more experience before trying 5-Stand. Personal firearms are allowed (12 gauge and 20 gauge only\, 7.5 or 8 shot\, no steel shot). If you bring your own firearm you must bring your own ammo. Equipment is provided for those that do not bring their own. \nPrice is $20 per person with own equipment or $35 per person with our equipment. Payment is due at time of arrival. \nClosed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Must be aged 8 to attend. No need to stress about getting lost; it’ll be a guided ride. It’s all about having fun\, so we’ll cruise at a chill pace and make sure no one gets left behind. We’ll be riding for about 60 to 90 minutes\, and afterwards\, there’ll be drinks and snacks for everyone. \nNo need to worry about getting lost—our ride leaders have you covered. Just bring your bike\, helmet\, and stoke. See you there! \nThis is a social ride\, not a race. We prioritize fun and camaraderie. \nDiscover one of the most exquisite trail systems in eastern Nebraska at Platte River State Park. The fast-flowing single tracks cut into the bluffs with a picturesque view of the Platte River. Session #3 we will use a training system to analyze shooting and correct problems. We will finish up with a fun competition shooting steel targets. The Steel Plate Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of standardized stages with 5 steel targets\, ranging in size from 10″ round plates to 18×24″ rectangular plates from 7 yards – 35 yards away. SUMMARY:Learn to Hunt Safely Weekend
DESCRIPTION:A hunter education focused weekend designed to give women the chance to learn the basics of hunter safety and gain firsthand firearm and archery experience in a fun\, safe environment. Basic hunter education course material will be taught through simulated hunting situations\, live fire exercises\, education and responsibility activities. Workshops will be led by women who are experienced hunters and certified volunteer hunter education instructors. \nCheck-in it 3:00 PM on Friday\, March 28 and weekend concludes on Sunday\, March 30 at 1:00 PM. $125.00 fee includes lodging in a cabin at Platte River State Park\, meals and materials. \nRegistration Terms \n\nPreregistration and fee is due by March 14\, 2025.  Register here\nFemale participants ages 12 years and older\nFemale participants 18 years and younger are required to be accompanied by a participating adult the full weekend.\nAdditional information will be emailed to registered participants.\n\nHunter Education certificate will be given at the end of the weekend.
