SUMMARY:Field Day: Managing Verdigris Creek Landscapes
DESCRIPTION:Join the free Field Day for Managing Verdigris Creek Landscapes on Sept. 28 at Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park near Royal. \nThe field day tour will begin at 10 a.m. Ranch spotlights include: \n\n\n\n– Managing Woodlands with Grazing and Fire\n– Grassland Stewardship\n– Keeping Verdigris Creek Healthy\n\n\n\nParticipants also will learn about Ashfall Fossil Beds\, which is housed within 360 acres of Nebraska prairie. This historic location offers a 12-million-year perspective on rangeland ecosystems\, and participants will learn how the property’s grasslands and woodlands are managed today. \nRegister by Sept. 18 by calling 402-841-8798 or emailing kyle.schumacher@nebraska.gov. Lunch will be provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center for Grassland Studies. \nThis event is cohosted by the Center for Grassland Studies\, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission\, University of Nebraska State Museum\, American Bird Conservancy and the Nebraska Section of the Society for Range Management.
