DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening at Wildcat Hills SRA to observe the Perseid Meteor shower. We’ll have a high-powered telescope set up for incredible views of the night sky—including stars\, planets\, and maybe even a shooting star or two. This program will take place at the back loop of the park. \nBring along a blanket or chair\, water\, bug spray and a sense of wonder. The program begins with a Plant Talk by Bob Henrickson\, Horticulture Coordinator with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. Learn about native and regional plants—their beauty\, benefits\, and role in our local ecosystems. \nFollowing the presentation\, enjoy a guided sunset hike (approximately 45 minutes) with Amanda Filipi from Nebraska Game and Parks. Take in the scenery while exploring the connections between plants\, wildlife\, and the landscape. \nSnacks and water will be provided. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. \nA valid park entry permit is required (available for purchase at the entrance). No registration is necessary—just come ready to explore!
