SUMMARY:Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Level Up Wingshooting Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Take your shotgun shooting abilities further before upland\, dove and waterfowl (wingshooting) seasons takes flight. This hands-on shotgun class is designed for women who are already comfortable with the basics of shotgun safety and shooting and are ready to advance their skills for the hunting field.  Pick from one of the three hour sessions. \n\n\n\nAugust 22 | 10 AM – 1 PM | Ponca State Park\nAugust 29 | 9 AM – 12 PM | Oak Creek Sporting Club\, Brainard\nSeptember 19 | 9 AM – 12 PM | Oak Creek Sporting Club\, Brainard\n\n\n\nThe four hour session will help build confidence\, improve accuracy\, and get field-ready for a successful hunting season. Three different dates are available. \nFee includes the price of 50 clays and use of shooting range. You are welcome to attend more than one of the session. DESCRIPTION:Second Shots Pistol is designed to build on the handgun skills introduced in our FIRST SHOTS course. It’s also a good refresher for those who are years out of practice. \nStudents learn more about ammunition\, loading a magazine\, clearing a pistol and locking the slide back\, and handling malfunctions. Plus\, students get the practical experience of loading and shooting a variety of handgun styles and calibers in the range. \nIn the range\, the basics of stance\, sight picture\, and trigger control are emphasized to maximize success. This event provides a fun environment for kids 18 and under to improve their hunting\, marksmanship and safety skills. \nThrough its simulated hunting situations\, live fire exercises\, educational and responsibility events\, YHEC helps build upon skills learned in basic hunter education courses and encourages safer\, lifelong hunting habits. Participants will also meet with outdoor conservation groups to discover next-step mentor programs. \nAll youth participants will be required to pay a $15 fee to attend. A request for payment will be emailed one month prior. \nThe event will start promptly at 9 a.m. CT\, so please arrive by 8:30 a.m. to check in. A parent or guardian is required to attend with you\, along with a completed release form. DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning more about handguns? Join us for our Introduction to Handgun class at the Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park! The biggest challenge for new shooters is getting started. This class makes getting started in shooting very easy – and\, thanks to NSSF partnership (National Shooting Sports Foundation)\, it’s only $10! \nAt our introduction to handguns class\, you will receive an educational introduction to the safe and recreational use of firearms\, individual and group training\, a rundown of shooting sports opportunities for all levels of interest\, and a chance to give shooting a try! \nThis seminar offers a small group setting for students aged 16 and over. All equipment is provided\, please do not bring your own firearms or ammunition. . Closed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Students aged 18 and under must be accompanied by their legal parent/guardian. \nRegistration is required. REGISTER HERE \nA valid Nebraska state park pass is required to enter the park.
