SUMMARY:Second Shots Pistol
DESCRIPTION:Second Shots Pistol is designed to build on the handgun skills introduced in our FIRST SHOTS course. It’s also a good refresher for those who are years out of practice. \nStudents learn more about ammunition\, loading a magazine\, clearing a pistol and locking the slide back\, and handling malfunctions. Plus\, students get the practical experience of loading and shooting a variety of handgun styles and calibers in the range. \nIn the range\, the basics of stance\, sight picture\, and trigger control are emphasized to maximize success. After completing this class\, participants will be prepared to safely use the range on their own. \nOverall\, Second Shots Pistol teaches the basic knowledge\, skills\, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely. The small class size allows students to ask questions and receive individual advice. \nCourse covers: \n\nHandgun knowledge & review safe handling\nReview fundamentals of handgun shooting\nAmmunition knowledge\nActual range practice\nA variety of pistols\, ammo\, and targets provided\n\nPlease bring your own eye and ear protection. \nIf you have your own pistol\, you may bring it to use on the range (be sure to bring 50 rounds of ammunition). \nClosed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. \nFor students age 16 and over. DESCRIPTION:Mondays in September\, you are invited to join in an evening of firearm education FOR women. \nThe Coaching class is a time for you to practice and advance your firearm skills while receiving individual instruction. The main focus will be on pistol\, but firearms such as rifles\, shotguns\, and muzzleloaders may also be covered in this section depending on student interest. \nCoaching is available from 5:45 – 6:45 pm or 7:00 – 8:00 pm. \nAll equipment is provided\, but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it. \nThe sessions will be taught at an indoor facility and space is limited. \nAges 16+ \n$45/participant (20% discount if you have an annual pass) \nNOTE: These will be a three week classes \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:2026 Nebraska Youth Smallbore Silhouette Invitational
DESCRIPTION:The 50th Annual Nebraska Youth Smallbore Silhouette Invitational will be September 26\, 2026 at the Pressey Wildlife Management Area (located 17 miles south of Broken Bow). This is a FREE event\, open to all youth age 11 or older who have successfully completed Hunter Education and who have not yet graduated from high school. Proof of Hunter Education completion is required. \nAll first-time participants at the event will receive one free box of .22 ammo! \nThis metal target event is meant to be fun while providing a challenge for .22 rifle shooters from beginner to advanced. Each participant will shoot 40 scoring shots from a standing position: 10 shots at 44 yards\, 10 shots at 66 yards\, 10 shots at 84 yards\, and 10 shots at 109 yards. \nThe range will open for practice at 8 a.m. Scoring relays will begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude mid-afternoon. Individuals are encouraged to enter and may opt to join their scores with others for team rankings. Individuals and teams will compete against others in their own class according to age\, rifle weight\, sight type\, and experience level. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winners of each class. \nEar and eye protection will be required for all persons on the line. An empty chamber indicator (ECI) will be required; indicators are available if you do not have one. \nPreregistration is preferred by completing the online form by Noon on Thursday\, September 24.  Registrations can also be made on the day of competition. \nREGISTER HERE (Google Form Link)
