DESCRIPTION:Join us for a monthly PIKE — a Naturalist-led group hike — at beautiful Ponca State Park! \nMeet at the West Shelter at 10 a.m. and enjoy the scenic views\, native wildlife\, and fellowship until 12:30 p.m. Along the way\, Naturalists will talk about the cultural and natural history of the park and the flora and fauna found in the area. The trail will end with a warm fire and fresh baked dessert in a dutch oven. A perfect mix of fresh air\, nature\, and a sweet treat! \nCost: $15 per person (card only) \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED – Spots are limited and you must pre-register and pay by calling the park office at 402-755-2284. PIKEs are currently scheduled every second Saturday from Jan. 10 to Dec. 12\, 2026. \nA valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park entrance or online.

All are welcome to join in remembrance\, learning\, and celebration. \nBring your own lawn chairs\, as bleacher seating is limited! \nActivities: \nThe Grand Entries are a must-see and will be performed Friday at 7 p.m.\, Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.\, and Sunday at 1 p.m.\n-There will be other activities happening over the course of the weekend as well including a special kick off performance\, a tipi rising\,  veteran honoring’s\,  vendors\, and more!\n-Enjoy authentic Native American cuisine\, vendors\, and family-friendly activities.\n  \nAdmission:\n$7 Day Pass or $15 Weekend Pass. All attendees 65+\, under 5\, all veterans\, and active duty military will receive free admission.\n\nNo pets or alcohol are allowed. Overnight camping is available at the site of the Pow Wow.\n\nAnyone parking on the grounds of Buffalo Bill State Historical Park must have a Nebraska Game and Parks Permit. All are welcome to join in remembrance\, learning\, and celebration. \nBring your own lawn chairs\, as bleacher seating is limited! \nActivities: \nThe Grand Entries are a must-see and will be performed Friday at 7 p.m.\, Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.\, and Sunday at 1 p.m.\n-There will be other activities happening over the course of the weekend as well including a special kick off performance\, a tipi rising\,  veteran honoring’s\,  vendors\, and more!\n-Enjoy authentic Native American cuisine\, vendors\, and family-friendly activities.\n  \nAdmission:\n$7 Day Pass or $15 Weekend Pass. Honor America’s 250th Anniversary by participating in this Nebraska Volunteer in Parks (VIP) Challenge on Saturday\, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. \nWe will provide water\, snacks\, and all the materials for painting fence. Please wear weather and work appropriate clothing for painting. Open to families\, groups\, and individuals of all ages and abilities. DESCRIPTION:Travel 200 years back in time and experience history on the Great Plains at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park! \nOngoing demonstrations featuring military and civilian life of the 1820s will occur throughout the park. Reenactors portray fur traders\, coopers\, blacksmiths\, carpenters\, tinsmiths\, weavers and other period trades.
