DESCRIPTION:A fishing education evening focused on women to learn and experience fishing. The evening will include basics: selecting a beginner’s fishing equipment\, baiting a hook (squeamish about worms? Don’t worry\, we have alternative bait for you)\, casting a line\, and releasing the fish safely back into their habitat. All equipment and bait will be provided for the evening full of fun\, fellowship\, and females fishing. \nAll participants 16 years and older are required to have a Nebraska fishing licenses. DESCRIPTION:Youth Fishing Instructors are part of the Youth Fishing Program\, a statewide team of volunteers and Game and Parks staff who host educational fishing events. \nWorkshop participants will receive training and tools to conduct youth fishing clinics. These volunteers will have access to Game and Parks’ loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events. They also will receive program incentives. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Cornhusker Fly Fishers will host fly-tying workshops March 5th and 9th at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln. \nRegister to attend on Wednesday\, March 5th from 6-8 p.m. here: March 5 Fly Tying Class \nRegister to attend on Sunday March 9th from 2-4 p.m. here: March 9 Fly Tying Class \nThe cost is $10 per class. Come to one or both sessions; each essentially will be the same. Different variations of flies will be introduced during each session. \nThe workshop\, which is open to new and experienced fly tiers\, will include all materials and tools needed. Reading glasses are recommended for up-close work. Participants will have the opportunity to tie four to six flies. They also will learn about community resources available to continue tying flies on their own.
