SUMMARY:The Great Rearrangement: From Crinoline to Bustle\, 1860-1890
DESCRIPTION:Step into the world of Victorian fashion with Indian Creek Historical Fashions at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park. Living historian Rayma Volkmer brings history to life in this entertaining\, eye-opening look at how women’s fashion shaped daily life in the 19th century. Watch stunning Victorian silhouettes appear — from corset to bustle to full outer gown — all created using historic techniques and sewn on traditional treadle machines. \nDid you know? A fully dressed Victorian woman could be wearing over 20 pounds of clothing — and she did it without zippers or elastic! And here’s the fun part: one lucky audience member will be invited onstage to become part of the program\, experiencing Victorian fashion firsthand — from the corset out to the finished gown. \nCome laugh\, learn\, and see history worn right before your eyes. because at Indian Creek Historical Fashions\, we’re Bringing History to Life! \nThis program is sponsored by the Friends of Fort Hartsuff. \nHistorical buildings and gift shop are open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $5 fore ages 13 & up\, $1 for ages 3-12\, and no charge for ages 2 & under. \nA vehicle park entry permit is required.

SUMMARY:Fort Hartsuff Rendezvous & Living History
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park on June 19-21 for a living history weekend rendezvous. \nFort Hartsuff was built as the fur trade era was coming to an end. Fur traders and trappers had spent years learning about the territory and the native people. Explore fur trade era living history with volunteers who embody the mountain men\, explorers\, and early entrepreneurs of the American West. \n  \nThe historical buildings and gift shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. \nAdmission: $5 (ages 13 & up)\, $1 (ages 3-12)\, no charge for ages 2 & under. \nA valid vehicle park entry permit is required. \n  \nVolunteers needed – Living history volunteers and vendors with interest in attending\, please contact the park.
