DESCRIPTION:Mondays in May\, you are invited to join in an evening of archery FOR women\, taught by women. \nChoose from a four-week intro class or ‘next-level’ practice and coaching section\, depending on your comfort with the material. \nThe intro section features a lesson and time on the archery range practicing with a bow each week. Class goes from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. \nThe ‘next-level’ practice and coaching section is a time for women to hone their archery skills and receive individual coaching. Coaching will be available from 5-6:30 pm and has a flexible arrival time. \nThe sessions will be taught at an indoor archery facility and space is limited. \n$30/participant\, ages 16+ \nAll equipment is provided\, but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it. \nNOTE: This will be a three week class. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Birds of a Feather: "Water: Sustaining Bird Life"
DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate Migratory Bird Day during the Birds of a Feather program at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park’s newly renovated James Family Conservatory and Nature Center. \nThis is a program for birders of all ages and levels. We introduce a different birding topic each session to begin the program. When weather permits\, we will head outdoors for a hike or time in the birding area. The program runs approximately 60-90 minutes and is offered on select Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. on a monthly basis. \nOn May 6\, the topic will be “Water: Sustaining Bird Life”. DESCRIPTION:Travel 200 years back in time and experience history on the Great Plains at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park! \nLiving History events occur from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the first weekend of each month between May and October. Ongoing demonstrations featuring military and civilian life of the 1820s will occur throughout the park. Reenactors portray fur traders\, coopers\, blacksmiths\, carpenters\, tinsmiths\, weavers and other period trades. There will also be potato planting demonstrations. Then join us for Nebraska’s Big Butterfly Count Training Workshop\, Saturday May 3rd 2025\, 1PM-5PM at the Crane Trust Nature Center\, Wood River \nNebraska’s Big Butterfly Count is a community science project that is designed to collect statewide data in order to better understand butterfly diversity across Nebraska. At this workshop you will learn about community science\, how to identify eastern/central Nebraska butterfly species\, and learn how you can contribute to Nebraska’s Big Butterfly Count. DESCRIPTION:A fishing education evening focused on women who have cast a line before\, and would like to delve in more to grow her confidence to fish independently. The evening will include: identifying types of fish\, selecting bait\, selecting equipment for a type of fish\, finding your fishing hole\, cleaning panfish\, and cooking a panfish over an open campfire with plenty of time left to actually fish! DESCRIPTION:Mondays in April\, you are invited to join in an evening of archery FOR women\, taught by women. \nChoose from a four-week intro class or ‘next-level’ practice and coaching section\, depending on your comfort with the material. \nThe intro section features a lesson and time on the archery range practicing with a bow each week. Class goes from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. \nThe ‘next-level’ practice and coaching section is a time for women to hone their archery skills and receive individual coaching. Coaching will be available from 5-6:30 pm and has a flexible arrival time. \nThe sessions will be taught at an indoor archery facility and space is limited. \n$40/participant\, ages 16+ \nAll equipment is provided\, but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it. \nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Youth Fishing Instructors are part of the Youth Fishing Program\, a statewide team of volunteers and Game and Parks staff who host educational fishing events. \nWorkshop participants will receive training and tools to conduct youth fishing clinics. These volunteers will have access to Game and Parks’ loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events. They also will receive program incentives.
