DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nLEAGUE OVERVIEW\n\nThe FHA and 3D rounds simulate real-world shooting conditions\, challenging archers with varied distances\, target sizes\, and terrain. Rounds rotate weekly to provide experience across multiple formats\, helping archers prepare for competition or simply enjoy shooting with others.\n\nLeague nights are held on Thursdays at 6:00 PM\, beginning April 30. Participants will meet at the outdoor shooting tower before heading out in assigned groups to their starting targets on the field course.\n\nIf you are unable to attend Thursday league nights\, weekly targets will remain set for drop-in shooting during open hours (Friday through Tuesday\, sunrise to sunset). Archers may collect a scorecard and complete the round on their own time. Join us on Friday\, May 29 at 1 p.m. CT to learn about the environmental and ecological impacts of invasive insects in Nebraska. There will be opportunity for a Q&A after the presentation. \nPre-registration required:  REGISTER HERE \nAbout the program: \n‘What makes an insect invasive?’ ‘Is that even a thing?’  ‘How would we know if they’re in Nebraska anyhow – they’re so small!’  \nAll these questions answered and more\, at Friday’s webinar of Invasive Insects.  Every state has species that they consider invasive; that is\, not native and cause ecological and/or economic harm.  Nebraska is no different.  While other species might be bigger\, or easier to detect\, surveying for invasive insects is just as important\, and a critical aspect of the work done at the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. \nAbout the presenter: Natalia Bjorklund is the State Entomologist and Program Manager of the Entomology and Plant Pest Program at NDA.   She was a horticulturist prior her completing her PhD in entomology\, and starting at NDA\, and finds that having knowledge of insect pests and their host plant is very advantageous.

SUMMARY:Kayak Clean Up & Invasive Species Awareness at Prairie Queen
DESCRIPTION:Our Nebraska wildlife thrive in clean and healthy spaces\, and people do too! Join Nebraska Game and Parks outdoor educators\, Invasive Species staff and members of the Greater Omaha Scuba club for a fun\, late-morning aquatic habitat clean up at Prairie Queen Recreation Area on Sunday morning\, May 31. \nIn addition to removing litter and improving the lake’s appearance\, this event will help raise awareness about aquatic invasive species found in the waterbody\, and throughout Nebraska. These invasive species negatively impact recreation\, Nebraska’s economy\, and native aquatic life by outcompeting native species and disrupting the lake’s ecosystem. Events like this encourage community involvement while promoting stewardship and prevention efforts to help protect Nebraska’s water resources.  \nSafety and basic instruction will be given at the beginning of the event. You will be emailed prior to the event to confirm your registration and any needed details. We will provide trash bags & gloves for all those interested in helping to clean up trash while on the water.  \n We will meet at the boat ramp and dock just off of the intersection of 132nd Street and Cornhusker Road\, on the West side of the lake. This area is in the northernmost section of the lake. On google maps it is identified as Prairie Queen’s Recreation Area.  \nThis event is free and we welcome you to either borrow a kayak or bring your own! DESCRIPTION:Join Ponca State Park Naturalists on the Corps of Discovery Trail to watch the moon rise!  \nMeet at the Riverfront Playground for guided hikes (approximately one hour) along the beautiful wooded trails. These hikes will include some steep inclines and are considered moderately challenging. Hikers are encouraged to bring water and snacks. \nHandheld flashlights will be provided. This family-oriented activity introduces participants to the cultural and natural history of our area trails\, lakes and natural resources.\n\nWe usually walk an average of 1-mile round trip. Each Moon Walk starts with a short introduction to the night’s program\, then we hike to a designated area where we enjoy presentations. Presenters are experts in their field and are from our local community. The evening wraps up with FREE smores! Most Moon Walks last from 1-2 hours. There is limited restroom availability. Dress in layers because the weather at the location may be different than it is in town. Pack water and snacks for the return trip. DESCRIPTION:Have you completed Explore Archery and want to learn more? Do you shoot NASP and want to continue working on your archery during the off season? Are you just starting out in archery and want some instruction? If this is you\, our JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) Skills class is just the thing. \nJOAD Skills is open to students who are new to JOAD or who are still working to advance to JOAD Academy. Explore Archery is a recommended prerequisite but not required. \nThis JOAD/AAP* course includes achievement awards\, skill training\, and games with a focus on guiding each student in improvement at their own pace. Each session includes a short lesson and coaching while students are on the line. JOAD Skills students have the opportunity to shoot for pins during select class sessions. SUMMARY:Field Archery & 3D League
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nLEAGUE OVERVIEW\n\nThe FHA and 3D rounds simulate real-world shooting conditions\, challenging archers with varied distances\, target sizes\, and terrain. Rounds rotate weekly to provide experience across multiple formats\, helping archers prepare for competition or simply enjoy shooting with others.\n\nLeague nights are held on Thursdays at 6:00 PM\, beginning April 30. Participants will meet at the outdoor shooting tower before heading out in assigned groups to their starting targets on the field course.\n\nIf you are unable to attend Thursday league nights\, weekly targets will remain set for drop-in shooting during open hours (Friday through Tuesday\, sunrise to sunset). Archers may collect a scorecard and complete the round on their own time. Targets are rotated weekly.\n\n3D rounds are only available to be shot during scheduled Thursday league nights.\n\nRegistration:\nSign up for all 10 weeks for $80 (20% discount for annual pass holders)\, or pay $10 per night at the door.\n________________________________________\nROUND DESCRIPTIONS\n\nFIELD (NFAA)\n14 targets • 4 arrows per target\nStandard NFAA Field format.\n\nHUNTER (NFAA)\n14 targets • 4 arrows per target\nStandard NFAA Hunter format with varied shooting positions.\n\nANIMAL (NFAA)\n14 targets • up to 3 arrows per target\nHighest scoring arrow counts. Gather your friends and join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for a free workshop on Friday evening\, June 5\, at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve in Lincoln to discover the beauty of native wildflowers. Participants will learn about native wildflowers and pollinator species while getting their hands dirty making their own wildflower seed bombs\, gelli printing\, and capturing wildflower silhouettes on bandanas with cyanotyping! \nWhile free of charge for participants\, this workshop has a limited capacity due to the supplies that are provided.
