Explore Archery is a recommended prerequisite but not required. \nThis Center Shot Archery Academy* course includes achievement awards\, skill training\, and games with a focus on guiding each student in improvement at their own pace. Each session includes a short lesson and coaching while students are on the line. JOAD Skills students have the opportunity to shoot for pins during select class sessions. DESCRIPTION:Check in begins at 8 am / ends at 8:45 am; practice and scoring begin at 9 am. \nMEMBERSHIP\nThe tournament is open to all USA Archery members as well as archers with no affiliation. Eligible USA Archery members can earn qualifying pin scores (pins are to be physically awarded by your home club – please check with your coach). No placement awards or door prizes will be given. \nPreregistration is very appreciated! Tournament fee and USA membership fee are separate payments\, if needed. DESCRIPTION:Second Shots Pistol is designed to build on the handgun skills introduced in our FIRST SHOTS course. It’s also a good refresher for those who are years out of practice. \nStudents learn more about ammunition\, loading a magazine\, clearing a pistol and locking the slide back\, and handling malfunctions. Plus\, students get the practical experience of loading and shooting a variety of handgun styles and calibers in the range. \nIn the range\, the basics of stance\, sight picture\, and trigger control are emphasized to maximize success. After completing this class\, participants will be prepared to safely use the range on their own. \nOverall\, Second Shots Pistol teaches the basic knowledge\, skills\, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely. The small class size allows students to ask questions and receive individual advice. \nCourse covers: \n\nHandgun knowledge & review safe handling\nReview fundamentals of handgun shooting\nAmmunition knowledge\nActual range practice\nA variety of pistols\, ammo\, and targets provided\n\nPlease bring your own eye and ear protection. \nIf you have your own pistol\, you may bring it to use on the range (be sure to bring 50 rounds of ammunition). \nClosed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. \nFor students age 16 and over.
