DESCRIPTION:Check in begins at 8 AM / ends at 8:45 am; practice and scoring begins at 9 AM. \nMEMBERSHIP\nThe tournament is open to all USA Archery members as well as archers with no affiliation. Eligible USA Archery members can earn qualifying pin scores (pins are to be physically awarded by your home club – please check with your coach). No placement awards or door prizes will be given. \nPreregistration is very appreciated! Tournament fee and USA membership fee are separate payments\, if needed. DESCRIPTION:Second Shots Pistol is designed to build on the handgun skills introduced in our FIRST SHOTS course. It’s also a good refresher for those who are years out of practice. \nStudents learn more about ammunition\, loading a magazine\, clearing a pistol and locking the slide back\, and handling malfunctions. Plus\, students get the practical experience of loading and shooting a variety of handgun styles and calibers in the range. \nIn the range\, the basics of stance\, sight picture\, and trigger control are emphasized to maximize success. After completing this class\, participants will be prepared to safely use the range on their own. \nOverall\, Second Shots Pistol teaches the basic knowledge\, skills\, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely. The small class size allows students to ask questions and receive individual advice. \nCourse covers: \n\nHandgun knowledge & review safe handling\nReview fundamentals of handgun shooting\nAmmunition knowledge\nActual range practice\nA variety of pistols\, ammo\, and targets provided\n\nPlease bring your own eye and ear protection. \nIf you have your own pistol\, you may bring it to use on the range (be sure to bring 50 rounds of ammunition). \nClosed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. \nFor students age 16 and over. SUMMARY:Spring Archery League
DESCRIPTION:Add excitement and variety to your range practice by joining our indoor archery league! \nThe league will meet at 7 pm on Thursday evenings for 8 weeks\, February 12 – April 2. If you can’t make it one week\, feel free to drop in during the center’s open hours and shoot the round. All targets must be shot at the Outdoor Education Center. \nEach week will be a different round\, with scores recorded\, and a cumulative score for the series. Target face and distances will accord to each round’s rules for ages and bow style. \nBow styles will be:\nCompound\nBarebow / Traditional / Genesis (not NASP)\nRecurve\nNASP (will shoot a standard NASP round each week – up to 19 years old) \nIndividual prizes will be awarded by drawing ‘tickets’. Tickets are earned by attendance\, top score each week\, most overall improved\, and top overall score. The number of prizes awarded will depend on number of entries (minimum of 1 prize per 5 entries). Weekly top score tickets will be awarded for each bow style represented. Final cumulative scores tickets may involve combined divisions\, depending on participation. \nAges 8 and up. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Turpin Outdoor Education Center’s Pistol Matches on February 21\, 2026. \nThis stand-alone match is open to pistols from all manufacturers. All matches are shot from a one-handed standing position. See information below about courses of fire. \nThis month’s matches will be: \nCMP Air Pistol NRA Sectional \nStandard pistol (.22) \nCompetitors may shoot one\, or two matches. First entry is $25\, and second is $12. This month’s Air Pistol Match is an official NRA Sectional with an additional $5 competitor fee. \nFor target\, distance\, rounds\, and timing summary\, see below. Complete event rules can be found here. \nSCHEDULE \nSaturday\, February 21: Relays available for Standard Pistol\, and CMP Air Pistol from 8 am to 12 pm. Select relay during registration. \nPRIZES will be awarded for first place in Standard Pistol\, and CMP Air Pistol matches. Additional prizes may be awarded by random drawing. \nMATCHES \nCompetitors may shoot an official entry in all of the matches. \nStandard Pistol \nAlso called 25 Meter Pistol. SUMMARY:Umbrella Match for Handguns Winter 2026 - Match 3
DESCRIPTION:Registration for the Outdoor Education Center’s Umbrella Match for handguns on February 24 or 28. This match will be offered on two dates – attend on whichever day works best for your schedule (Tuesday or Saturday). \nThis is a three-match series open to pistols from all manufacturers. The course of fire will be the same as the GSSF Indoor League Series. \nThis is the FINAL match for this series. Competitors must shoot in two out of the three available matches (December\, January\, February) to be eligible for prizes. \nCompetitors may shoot up to 6 divisions – Centerfire Stock\, Centerfire Unlimited\, Centerfire Single Stack/Revolver\, Rimfire Stock\, Rimfire Unlimited\, and Rimfire Revolver. For division descriptions\, see below. First entry is $20\, second is $10\, and third through sixth (each) is $5. Secondary entries in the same division are $5 each and only count as additional chances in the prize drawings. \nThis match will follow GSSF’s ‘Original’ course of fire for all Stock and Unlimited divisions and ‘Option E’ for Single Stack/Revolver divisions. For target\, distance\, rounds\, and timing specifications\, see PDF under More Information. \nSchedule: \nTuesday\, February 24: Check in available starting at 1 pm; check in closes at 6:30 pm. \nSaturday\, February 28: Check in available starting at 9 am; check in closes at 11:30 am. \nPreregister to schedule a check in (squadding) time. Competitors will otherwise be squadded according to arrival time. \nPRIZES \nA top prize package that includes a pair of Bluetooth earmuffs\, an Annual Pass – Indoor Firearm Individual\, and range bag will be awarded in a random prize drawing after completion of all three matches. A ticket in the drawing will be generated for every competitor’s first division entry and/or secondary division entry\, once they have shot the same entry for a minimum of two out of the three matches. \nFor each division\, ONLY the first entry shot will be placed in each month’s match result rankings. Secondary division entries are not ranked and cannot replace a primary score. Monthly ranking results will be provided after each match. \nFor final series results\, any competitor with two or more ‘first’ entries per division will have their top two division scores averaged for rank. \nAdditional prizes awarded by random drawing. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Spring Archery League
DESCRIPTION:Add excitement and variety to your range practice by joining our indoor archery league! \nThe league will meet at 7 pm on Thursday evenings for 8 weeks\, February 12 – April 2. If you can’t make it one week\, feel free to drop in during the center’s open hours and shoot the round. All targets must be shot at the Outdoor Education Center. \nEach week will be a different round\, with scores recorded\, and a cumulative score for the series. Target face and distances will accord to each round’s rules for ages and bow style. \nBow styles will be:\nCompound\nBarebow / Traditional / Genesis (not NASP)\nRecurve\nNASP (will shoot a standard NASP round each week – up to 19 years old) \nIndividual prizes will be awarded by drawing ‘tickets’. Tickets are earned by attendance\, top score each week\, most overall improved\, and top overall score. The number of prizes awarded will depend on number of entries (minimum of 1 prize per 5 entries). Weekly top score tickets will be awarded for each bow style represented. Final cumulative scores tickets may involve combined divisions\, depending on participation. \nAges 8 and up. Previous archery experience required. \nParticipants without personal equipment may opt to use a rental bow (or if taking a class\, their class bow). \nSign up for all 8 weeks at once for $60 (20% discount for annual pass holders)\, or pay at the door for $9 per attendance. \nREGISTER NOW \nPlease call us at 402-471-6141 if you experience difficulty with registration.
