DESCRIPTION:Check in begins at 5 pm / ends at 5:45 pm; practice and scoring begin at 6 pm. \nMEMBERSHIP\nThe tournament is open to all USA Archery members as well as archers with no affiliation. Eligible USA Archery members can earn qualifying pin scores (pins are to be physically awarded by your home club – please check with your coach). SUMMARY:Fly Tying for Beginners at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center
DESCRIPTION:Anglers can learn the basics of fly tying that will prepare them to catch trout and panfish this spring. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Cornhusker Fly Fishers will host fly-tying workshops March 5th and 9th at the Turpin Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln. \nRegister to attend on Wednesday\, March 5th from 6-8 p.m. here: March 5 Fly Tying Class \nRegister to attend on Sunday March 9th from 2-4 p.m. here: March 9 Fly Tying Class \nThe cost is $10 per class. Come to one or both sessions; each essentially will be the same. Different variations of flies will be introduced during each session. \nThe workshop\, which is open to new and experienced fly tiers\, will include all materials and tools needed. Reading glasses are recommended for up-close work. Participants will have the opportunity to tie four to six flies. They also will learn about community resources available to continue tying flies on their own.

Explore Archery is a recommended prerequisite but not required. \nOur Center Shot Archery Academy* course includes achievement awards\, skill training\, and games with a focus on guiding each student in improvement at their own pace. Each session includes a short lesson and coaching while students are on the line. Archery 1 students have the opportunity to shoot for their next pin during select class sessions. Over the course of the session\, students will advance their scoring skills\, learn about competition etiquette\, and work to achieve the pins and techniques needed to advance to the next level. \nStudents will receive their own copy of the National Training System (NTS) shot cycle\, a stretch band\, and a finger sling. \nNo equipment is required\, but personal equipment is allowed for some portions of the class. \n$65/student \nAges 8 and over. \nPrerequisites: None (Explore Archery recommended) \nREGISTER HERE

Replacements of these items are available for a small fee. \nNo personal equipment is required\, but should start to be considered. \nAges 8 and over. \nPrerequisites:\n– Demonstrate at least four steps of the NTS Shot Cycle and be able to explain the importance of the shot cycle to your instructor\n– Earn at least 4 pins (white pin) in any discipline \n$65/student \nAges 8 and over. \nREGISTER HERE

The focus of this course is to refine the archers shot process and deepen their understanding of what makes a great shot. This class emphasizes deliberate practice and encourages camaraderie through training with teammates and building community within the Center Shot Archery Academy. Whether aiming for personal growth or competitive success\, this class provides the skills and environment to thrive in the sport for years to come. \nJOAD 3 involves many drills\, personal homework and a lot of training to elevate your skills to help you perform at your best! Archers will fine tune their shot process and further develop the physical and mental aspect of the sport of archery. \nThis class is 1½ hours long and is offered on: \nFridays 6:00pm – 7:30pm \nCost is $80 \nStudents are highly encouraged to shoot and train outside of class and attend tournaments and pin shoots with other Center Shot Archery Academy students. \nRegistration is available to students who have previously participated in a JOAD 2 class. \nPersonal equipment is highly recommended but not required. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Ponca State Park for Marsh Madness! \nHave you ever experienced the whirlwinds of the snow geese? The courtship displays of the pintail? The living blanket of Canadian geese covering the ground? Migration season in the Northeast region on Nebraska is generally at its peak the last week of February and all of March. \nPonca State Park celebrates the migration season with Marsh Madness. Marsh Madness is an opportunity for individuals and families to witness a multitude of migratory waterfowl within the park during guided Avian Adventure Blind Viewing Sessions or unguided bird viewings. Common springtime sightings include Pintail\, teal\, snow geese\, white-fronted geese\, wood ducks\, mallards\, bald eagles\, and more. \nWith Ponca State Park’s location\, adjacent to the Missouri River\, it presents a significant flyway that serves as the feeding\, breeding and staging ground for migratory birds. \nGuided sunrise and sunset waterfowl blind viewings are scheduled every Saturday\, March 1st thru March 29th. For this series\, each match will be offered on two dates – attend on whichever day works best for your schedule (Tuesday or Saturday). \nThis is the SECOND match for this series. Competitors must shoot in two out of the three available matches (February\, March\, April) to be eligible for prizes. The third match will take place on April 8 or 12. \nCompetitors may shoot up to 5 divisions – Stock\, Unlimited\, Pocket\, Rimfire\, and MOS. For division descriptions\, see below. First entry per date is $20\, second is $10\, third is $5\, fourth is $5\, and fifth is $5. Secondary entries in the same division are $5 each and only count as additional chances in the prize drawings. \nThis match will follow GSSF’s ‘Original’ course of fire for Stock\, Unlimited\, Rimfire\, and MOS and ‘Option E’ for Pocket. For target\, distance\, rounds\, and timing specifications\, see the document under More Information. \nAll competitors in the GSSF Indoor League Series must be GSSF Members and compete using Glocks that conform to Stock\, Unlimited\, Pocket\, Rimfire\, and/or MOS division rules. GSSF memberships may be obtained/renewed online from https://gssf.pro/. \nSchedule: \nTuesday\, March 18: Check in available starting at 1 pm; check in closes at 6:30 pm. \nSaturday\, March 22: Check in available starting at 8 am; check in closes at 11:30 am. \nPreregister to schedule a check in (squadding) time.
