DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Turpin Outdoor Education Center’s Pistol Matches on April 18\, 2026. \nThis stand-alone match is open to pistols from all manufacturers. All matches are shot from a one-handed standing position. See information below about courses of fire. \nThis month’s matches will be: \nGallery Precision Pistol Sectional \nCMP Air Pistol \nCompetitors may shoot one\, or two matches. First entry is $25\, and the second is $12. This month’s Gallery Precision Pistol Match is an official NRA Sectional with an additional $5 competitor fee. \nFor target\, distance\, rounds\, and timing summary\, see below. Complete event rules can be found here. \nSCHEDULE \nSaturday\, April 18: Relays available for Gallery Precision Pistol\, and CMP Air Pistol from 8 am to 12 pm. Select relay during registration. \nPRIZES will be awarded for first place in Gallery Precision Pistol\, and CMP Air Pistol matches. Additional prizes may be awarded by random drawing. \nMATCHES \nCompetitors may shoot an official entry in all of the matches. \nGallery Precision Pistol \nOpen to .22 caliber rimfire pistols with iron/open sight or optical sights (red dot\, pistol scope\, reflex\, holographic\, etc.) \nThis is a 90 shot match \nSlow Fire: 10 shots in 10 minutes\, 2 times = 20 shots \nTimed Fire: 5 shots in 20 seconds\, 2 strings per target\, 2 times = 20 shots \nRapid Fire: 5 shots in 10 seconds\, 2 strings per target\, 2 times = 20 shots \nNational Match Course \nSlow Fire: 10 shots in 10 minutes \nTimed Fire: 10 shots in 20 seconds\, 2 times = 10 \nRapid Fire: 5 shots in 10 seconds\, 2 times = 10 \n1) Uses standard B-2 target for slow fire\, and B-3 target for timed and rapid fire \nCMP Air Pistol \nOpen to .177 caliber air pistols with open sights; see rulebook for complete gun specifications. SUMMARY:FULL - Beginning Fly-Fishing and Fly-Tying at Schramm Education Center
DESCRIPTION:Registration is full for this event. \nJoin us for a Beginners Fly-Fishing and Fly-Tying Class at the Schramm Education Center April 18. \nAnglers can learn the basics of fly fishing such as casting\, fly tying\, and basic knots\, intended to prepare them to catch trout and panfish this spring. The workshop\, which is open to new and experienced fly fishers\, will include all fishing equipment\, materials and tools needed. \nThere is a limit of 25 participants for the class and we would prefer that participants be of sufficient age to comfortably and confidently handle a 9 ft – 5 or 6 wt. fly rod.  This usually means that kids under about 12 years of age may have difficulty adequately handling a fly rod of that length and weight to move the line needed for casting.  If you have questions about this class for potential younger participants\, please contact us at Cornhuskerflyfishers@gmail.com or larry.pape@nebraska.gov. \nThe Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host this workshop\, led and taught by members of the Cornhusker Fly Fishers Club. \nCost: $25 per person per event for lunch\, refreshments and facilities (limited to the first 25 registrants at each event). \nRegister Here  \nDirections on how to pay for the class will be given in a follow-up email from the Cornhusker Fly Fishing Club after registration on the Sign-Up Genius Website.

DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE – All lilac tour spots are currently booked! \nAt this annual spring celebration\, experience one of the largest and most diverse public lilac collections in the country\, in full bloom! Arbor Lodge State Historical Park is home to more than 200 lilac cultivars from around the world\, a stunning display of color and fragrance. \nRegister now for a 45-minute guided Lilac Trail Tour through the cornerstone of the collection\, led by the volunteers who revitalized it in recent years. Tours are free to attend\, but space is limited and registration is required. \nSAVE YOUR SPOT \nLilac Trail Tours at the Historical Park (45 minute guided sessions): April 18 at 1 p.m.\, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.; April 19 at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.; April 25 at 1 p.m.\, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.; April 26 at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. \nEducational Workshop at the Lied Greenhouse: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday\, April 25th only \n  \nA park permit is not required.
