A Buffalo Bill impersonator will be on hand and Barnes will sign purchased copies of his book. \nThe tour will be approximately half a mile on level ground. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, but a valid state park vehicle permit is required for park entry. \nThis program is in partnership with the Nebraska State Historical Society’s WanderNebraska program.

Join us in the park around the Hatch House and Canyon Ponds as we celebrate outdoor time and nature’s beauty as summer transitions to fall. \nWe will have outdoor activities like round rafting and canoeing on the park ponds\, kids fishing\, geology\, outdoor cooking\, and other nature activities. \nEnjoy live music from Mark Irvin Music. Hotdog and bison burger meals will be available for purchase (card only). Black Cow Dairy will be on site to sell ice cream. \nThe Treehouse Classroom will be open from 5-8 p.m. \nJoin naturalists for a night hike to end the evening from 8-9 p.m. \nThis event is free and open to the public. A valid state park vehicle permit is required for entry. A map will be available at arrival with a list of all activities and locations.

DESCRIPTION:Looking to get outdoors and volunteer? Schramm Park SRA holds regular volunteer opportunities to assist with land management efforts. Join NGPC staff as we work on activities such as invasive species removal\, seed collection\, trail maintenance\, brush piling\, and tree planting.\nRegister in advance if plan to attend so we can estimate head count for work materials: https://arcg.is/H1L5S2\nWear sturdy\, closed-toed shoes and long pants\, bring water\, and outdoor work/garden gloves. Long sleeves are also recommended. All ages are welcome for this opportunity\, but anyone under the age of 18 must have an accompanying adult.\nMeet at the park shelter next to Pond A. We’ll kick things off with an introduction to the project at the posted start time and then get started. Volunteers will need to sign a standard volunteer waiver upon arrival. We are meeting in the park\, so a state park vehicle permit is required.

DESCRIPTION:Join Ponca State Park Naturalists on the Corps of Discovery Trail to watch the moon rise!  \nMeet at the Riverfront Playground for guided hikes (approximately one hour) along the beautiful wooded trails. These hikes will include some steep inclines and are considered moderately challenging. Hikers are encouraged to bring water and snacks. \nHandheld flashlights will be provided. Guests can bring their own headlamps or flashlights if they prefer. \nHike are scheduled for following dates and times: \nApril 1 at 7:30 p.m.\nMay 1 at 8:45 p.m.\nMay 31 at 9:45 p.m.\nJune 29 at 9:15 p.m.\nJuly 29 at 9 p.m.\nAugust 27 at 7:45 p.m.\nSeptember 26 at 6:45 p.m.\nOctober 25 at 5:45 p.m.\nHike may be cancelled due to weather or staffing.
