DESCRIPTION:Do you have a little one who loves animals\, nature\, and the outdoors? Are you looking for opportunities to explore the outdoors together with your children? Join us for Little Saplings\, Schramm Education Center’s early childhood nature discovery program. Little Saplings\, a monthly program designed for children ages 2 – 5 and their adult caregiver\, will bring nature themes to life for your child through story time\, sensory activities\, crafts\, and outdoor exploration!\nThe series is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 9 – 10 am and 10 – 11 am. The cost to participate is $5 per child and $5 per adult per program and includes admission to the Education Center after the program. Schramm Family Pass members participate free. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever heard a rattlesnake? Smelled snake musk? Felt the keeled scales of a garter snake?\nSchramm Education Center is hosting its annual “Snakes of Nebraska” event on Saturday\, August 9th and Sunday\, August 10th! University of Nebraska-Lincoln herpetologist Dennis Ferraro and his lab will lead a live snake encounter featuring most of Nebraska’s 29 snake species. The live snake exhibits will be set up open-house style in the Schramm Education Center classroom and will be available on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 4:30 pm.\n\nAt this free event\, you can see most of Nebraska’s 29 snake species\, meet UNL herpetologist Dennis Ferraro\, ask an expert your snake questions\, and even see venomous snakes up close. Join us to learn more about the amazing\, diverse snakes that call Nebraska home.\n\nThis is a free event. Regular Schramm Education Center admission fees will apply for anyone opting to visit the Education Center in addition to the event. A state park vehicle permit is not required in the Education Center parking lot. Please use the classroom entrance (on the left side of the building next to the Nebraska Game and Parks logo) to visit the event.
