Boyer Street and the Cowboy Trail\, honoring the veterans’ service and the importance of trails in providing safe spaces for everyone to be active outside\, stay healthy and be resilient. After lunch\, everyone is welcome to join the veterans for a walk or bike ride on the Cowboy Trail segment of the Great American into Ta-Ha-Zouka Park beginning around 2 p.m. \nPlease RSVP if you are planning to attend. \nRSVP HERE \nNote: the distance from the starting point in Battle Creek to Ta-Ha-Zouka Park is 10 miles\, which is approximately a 1-hour bike ride or a 3.5-hour walk. Please bring water\, proper footwear and sun protection if you plan to participate. \nThis event is free and all are welcome!

Visitors will be able to glimpse the holiday activities that would have taken place at this 1820s era outpost.\n\n\nOngoing demonstrations featuring military and civilian life will occur throughout the park. Reenactors portray fur traders\, coopers\, blacksmiths\, carpenters\, tinsmiths\, weavers and other period trades. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the reenactors. \nSchedule\n10 a.m. – The Troop (Roll call\, inspection\, raise colours\, and morning gun) \n10:15 a.m. – History Trailer (west gate\, ongoing); Company Drill (flag pole\, ongoing) \n10:30 a.m.\, Saturday only – “Legacies of the American Revolution” by retired history professor and award-winning author\, Dr. Don Hickey (Visitor Center) \n10:30 a.m.\, Sunday only – Church at the North Barrack \n11 a.m. – Speeches and toast by Col. Visitors will be able to glimpse the holiday activities that would have taken place at this 1820s era outpost.\n\n\nOngoing demonstrations featuring military and civilian life will occur throughout the park. Reenactors portray fur traders\, coopers\, blacksmiths\, carpenters\, tinsmiths\, weavers and other period trades. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the reenactors. \nSchedule\n10 a.m. – The Troop (Roll call\, inspection\, raise colours\, and morning gun) \n10:15 a.m. – History Trailer (west gate\, ongoing); Company Drill (flag pole\, ongoing) \n10:30 a.m.\, Saturday only – “Legacies of the American Revolution” by retired history professor and award-winning author\, Dr. Don Hickey (Visitor Center) \n10:30 a.m.\, Sunday only – Church at the North Barrack \n11 a.m. – Speeches and toast by Col. Held in honor of Native American veterans and cultural traditions\, the North Platte Pow Wow is a three-day inter-tribal gathering featuring traditional dancing\, drumming\, and honoring ceremonies. Attendees can look forward to vibrant displays of regalia\, rhythmic drumming\, and engaging with artisans. All are welcome to join in remembrance\, learning\, and celebration. \nBring your own lawn chairs\, as bleacher seating is limited! \nActivities: \nThe Grand Entries are a must-see and will be performed Friday at 7 p.m.\, Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.\, and Sunday at 1 p.m.\n-There will be other activities happening over the course of the weekend as well including a special kick off performance\, a tipi rising\,  veteran honoring’s\,  vendors\, and more!\n-Enjoy authentic Native American cuisine\, vendors\, and family-friendly activities.\n  \nAdmission:\n$7 Day Pass or $15 Weekend Pass. All attendees 65+\, under 5\, all veterans\, and active duty military will receive free admission.\n\nNo pets or alcohol are allowed. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 9th annual Crofton’s Dam Race at scenic Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area in northeast Nebraska! \nChoose your adventure between three events: \n1)   A sprint triathlon with kayaking instead of swimming\, \n2)   a half marathon\, \n3)   or a 12-mile bike race. \nParticipants must be 14 years or older. The triathlon can be done individually with teams. \nTriathlon – Kayak 1.5 miles on Lewis and Clark Lake\, run 5K through the Weigand campground and bike 12 miles along the rolling hills overlooking the lake. \nBike race – It’s less of a race and more like a 12-mile scenic ride. The real reward is dominating the hills. \nHalf marathon – Run 13.1 miles along the scenic Lewis and Clark Lake. \nREGISTER HERE \nPlan to stick around the finish line in Crofton for a party with food and music. \nKayaks are provided and medals will be awarded for winners of each age group. \n  \nA valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park or online at GoOutdoorsNE.com. \n
