SUMMARY:Living History Weekend at Arbor Lodge - Frontier Days
DESCRIPTION:Visit Arbor Lodge during Frontier Days on Sept. 25-27 to learn more about what life was like for the early pioneers living in Nebraska. \nDemonstrations and displays will include rope making\, early Nebraska City education\, antique kitchen gadgets\, rag dolls\, quilting\, dress-like-a-pioneer\, old time toys and games\, household chores\, early transportation and more! \nCortland Opry House dulcimers players will be performing throughout the day on Saturday\, Sept. 26. \nThe Nebraska Game and Parks History Trailer will also be in the park for guest viewing. \nThe mansion will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday\, with demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arbor Lodge is a member of the Nebraska City Museum Association\, providing free admission for local residents.

DESCRIPTION:The Nature at Nightfall event that was scheduled to take place on Friday 9/25/2026 at Prairie Pines has been cancelled due to the rain forecasted all weekend. \nPlease join us on September 25th\, 2026 from 6:30-10PM at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve as we welcome our transition into the Fall season by exploring nature as the sun begins to set. There is so much to discover from dusk to nightfall as the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer. We will have a wide array of activities going on throughout the evening so there is sure to be something for everyone! \nActivities will be scattered around the Prairie Pines property and there will be plenty of maps and signs to help guide you. Below is a lineup for the evening: \nLive Reptiles & Amphibians– 6:30-8PM\nDusk to Nightfall Hikes– 6:30\, 7\, 7:30PM\nNocturnal Animal Pelts– 6:30-8PM\nLive Owl Presentations– 7\, 7:30\, 8PM\nMoth Lighting– 8-10PM\nBat Mist Netting– 8-10PM\nAstronomy– 8-10PM \nThis event requires registration\, please register HERE! \nDue to parking limitations\, registration will close at 230 guests \nWe recommend dressing in layers and checking the weather right before heading out as it may get chilly throughout the evening. If you wish to lay under the stars during astronomy\, please consider bringing your own blanket or mat as we have a limited supply. \nWe hope to see you there!
