Many people enjoy Conversation Hearts on Valentine’s Day, but we are here to teach conservation! We will be creating “Conservation Hearts” with recycled materials. Participants will learn about fast fashion and over-packaging and discuss some ways to cut back on waste this year.
Participants are welcome to contribute a few small pieces of scrap fabric cut from worn-out clothing or leftovers from sewing projects. We will provide materials. The heart takes about 30 minutes to make.
Activity Location: Schramm Education Center Classroom
Time: Visitors can come any time between 1 and 4 p.m.
Price: $5 per person; includes admission to the Education Center (free for Family Pass members)
All ages welcome; smaller children may need help from a grown up or sibling to complete the activity, which involves cutting and gluing.
