Twilight Wander

FreeJoin Nebraska Game and Parks staff and Nebraska Master Naturalists for a Twilight Wander in Wilderness Park. This family friendly program is all about observation of the natural transitions of this season. There will be so much to see, hear, and experience!

Join the exploration as we watch the sun glisten through the branches of the trees and listen for owl calls as it grows dark. Sunset will be at 5:15 PM and it will be dark by 6:50 PM. We will provide red lights when it gets darker so you can see where you are going without compromising your vision for the night sky.
Remember to dress for the weather and be sure to use the facilities before you arrive as there are no available bathrooms nearby.

It is up to you. -You are not required to stay the entire time.

Yes, we will offer a guided tour in the forest that is further away from the parking lot. You can decide if you want to go or continue exploring the edge of the forest with a guide.
Will I get lost? -You have the freedom to come or go as you please. As long as you stay with the guide, you will not get lost.

The trail is mostly flat where we will be for part of the exploration. There are hills and a few steps if you choose to explore deeper in the forest.
