Twilight Wander: Frank Shoemaker Marsh

FreeJoin Nebraska Game and Parks staff and Nebraska Master Naturalists for a Twilight Wander in the Frank Shoemaker Marsh. This family friendly program is all about observation of the natural transitions of this season. There will be so much to see, hear, touch and experience!
What to expect:
We will meet at 4:30 PM in the parking area at Frank Shoemaker Marsh N 27th St, Lincoln, NE 68531. In addition to seasonal changes, this program will also focus on the transition in nature from day to night. Participants will watch the sun dip below the horizon on this marsh/prairie mix and darkness settles on the landscape. Sunset will be at 5:07 PM and twilight will end as we are leaving around 5:30 PM.

Remember to dress for the weather and be sure to use the facilities before you arrive as there are no available bathrooms nearby.

Will I have an opportunity to walk around the marsh/prairie?
Yes, we will meander through the forest grove, the tall-grass prairie and look around in the dried up marsh areas. Paths along Shoemaker Marsh are a mix between a .25 mile crushed granite path, some open forest floor and comprised mostly of mowed trails through the grassland.

This is an easy trail, however here are some hilly areas with different grades of slope. Paths along Shoemaker Marsh are a mix between a .25 mile crushed granite path, some open forest floor and comprised mostly of mowed trails through the grassland.
