Join us on Monday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James Family Conservatory and Nature Center at Mahoney State Park to learn more about turtles, traits and taxonomy!
Taxonomy is how scientists classify and name animals. Learn about animal traits and adaptations and how scientists use these characteristics to sort animals into categories. Meet turtle ambassadors, Chip and Picasso, and learn where turtles fall into the various categories of classification. Observe differences between species of Nebraska turtles.
This event is free. A 2025 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.
