Join us on Friday, April 18 at the James Family Conservatory and Nature Center at Mahoney State Park to learn more about trees, turtles and taxonomy! Choose from the 10 a.m. morning or 1 p.m. afternoon session; each will be 60-90 minutes.
Celebrate Arbor Day on a short tree hike where you will observe identifiable tree characteristics. Meet our turtle ambassadors, Chip and Picasso, as you explore where turtles fall into the various categories of classification.
Through these activities and more, you’ll discover the importance of taxonomy and how scientists use it to classify and name plants and animals.
