The Big Sit

October 10 @ 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

The Big Sit is a friendly challenge that asks the question-how many birds can we count from one location? Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center’s Jason “The Bird Nerd” St. Sauver and Nebraska Game and Parks Educator Alie Mayes for a birdy morning as we try to count as many birds as we can from our “sit spot” at the Lincoln Saline Wetlands Nature Center (570-598 W Industrial Lake Dr). Come for an hour or bring your lunch and stay for the entire event! Participants are encouraged to wear a mask and to social distance during this event. Please note, a public restroom is not available on site, but there are public restrooms available at nearby businesses.

This event is organized on an international level by the New Haven Bird Club. Data collected during this event will be reported to eBird.
