Celebrate National Shooting Sports Month at the range by participating in a Steel Plate shooting challenge at Platte River State Park Outdoor Heritage Education Complex near Louisville.

Cost is $15 to compete, and participants must be 16 years old or older. The competition is based on accuracy and speed combined to shoot five targets using .22 handguns or rifles.

All equipment will be provided. Participants may bring their own firearm with .22 lr ammo only. All personal firearms must be cased. Some shooting experience is preferred but is not required. Expert instructors will be on hand to guide novice shooters.  All participants must wear eye and ear protection.
