Celebrate National Shooting Sports Month at the range by participating in a Steel Plate Challenge at Platte River State Park Outdoor Heritage Education Complex near Louisville.

The Steel Plate Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of standardized stages with 5 steel targets, ranging in size from 10″ round plates to 18×24″ rectangular plates from 7 yards – 35 yards away. Open to novice and experienced shooters ages 16 and up.

$20 fee per person or $10 per person for those bringing their own firearms and ammo, payable upon arrival. .22 (ONLY) rifles and handguns provided. Participants may bring their own .22 (ONLY) with own ammo as none will be provided for personal equipment. All firearms must be case and will be inspection upon arrival. Eye and ear protection provided, or you may bring your own.

A current NGPC park sticker is required for park entry.
