When people think of Bighorn Sheep, they may envision these ungulates climbing steep rugged mountainous terrain. But truth is Bighorn Sheep are native to the plains and bluffs of western Nebraska. These bovids have had an interesting history in the state and in this Science Of episode we will talk all about the reintroduction efforts by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission as well as the challenges these animals have faced, and continue to face in the state. We will also cover their evolutionary history, their adaptions, and discuss their interesting mating rituals. Don’t miss this episode as we explore this interesting Nebraska species.
