Science of…Aquatic Plants

June 29, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

FREE
They’re like plants, but aquatic. As temperatures outside begin to rise aquatic plants begin to grow. Some of these plants may seem like a nuisance while you’re swimming in the lakes and streams, but truth is they are super beneficial for the health of the water and wildlife as well. In this Science of, we will be talking about the different types of aquatic plants, and which species call Nebraska home. Through this we will also be looking at some of the different types of invasive aquatic plants and how that affects the ecosystem as well. Join us to learn more about these interesting plants and their unusual ecosystem.
