Join us December 28, December 30 and January 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Program schedule

10:00-5:00 — Winter Under the Water

Walk amongst a winter wonderland as you view aquariums aglow,
lights and snow in our holiday frost-filled fish encounter.

10:00-5:00 — Snowflake Tinker Table

Visit our Maker Space to imagine and create your own sparkling
snowflakes with a variety of wintery supplies.

10:00-12:00 — Reptile Reception!

Meet an animal ambassador and learn about habitat and adaptations
of Nebraska reptiles.

10:00 — Snowflake Storytime

Join us in the Reading Nook and we’ll read a book about snowflakes and
share some snowflake science.

10:30 — Phenology

Observe the changes that take place in nature and record your discoveries on a chart
that you can look at from year to year to notice patterns.

11:00 — Winter Hike

Let’s go explore outdoors and see what the weather brings us! Will we look for
animal tracks, stomp in the snow or make snow angels? We will let the weather be our guide with the goal of getting outside.

12:00-1:00 — Lunch

Bring a sack lunch to enjoy as a winter picnic or in our classroom OR take a short trip into Gretna or Louisville to eat at a nearby restaurant.

1:00 — Snowflake Storytime

Join us in the Reading Nook and we’ll read a book about snowflakes and
share some snowflake science.

1:30 — Phenology

2:00 — Brrrrr!ds

While we say “Brrrrrr!” in the cold, birds are adapted to winter weather. Learn about ways
birds adapt to the cold and make a pinecone birdfeeder to take home and feed some of the birds in your neighborhood.

Make an animal track booklet and learn about different animals of Nebraska and
the signs they leave behind.

3:30 — Winter Hike
