Join us at Rock Creek Station Historical Park for Rock Creek Trail Days!

Come explore a place where road ranches served pioneers along the Oregon-California Trail, Pony Express riders carried mail across the West, and Wild Bill Hickok began a legendary career as gunfighter! Ongoing living history activities on the ranches will include: black powder demonstrations, blacksmithing and wagon building, baked goods, jams and jellies,
tomahawk throw and kids games!

The Visitor Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Saturday, June 3

10:30 a.m.: Pony Express Demonstration and Hickok-McCanles Narration at East Ranch
11:30 a.m. – 1 pm.: Friends of RCS Pulled Pork Lunch (donation) at West Ranch
3:30 p.m.: Pony Express Demonstration and Hickok-McCanles Narration at East Ranch
7 p.m.: Buffalo Stew Cookout at West Ranch, guest speaker Dr. Bob Welch presents “Bullwhacking Across the Plains: Moving Freight West Before the Railroads”

Sunday, June 4

1 p.m.: Pony Express Demonstration and Hickok-McCanles Narration at East Ranch

Advanced cookout tickets will be on sale at the park’s Visitor Center and at the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce office. Adults $9/Children $6 (13 and under).   

Vehicle park entry permit required.
