Join us on July 19-21 at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park in North Platte, Nebraska for the North Platte Powwow. Annually themed “Honoring our Veterans”, the event is a cultural celebration dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the contributions of Native American veterans.
The event will feature traditional dances, music, arts and crafts, and authentic Native American cuisine. Special ceremonies and performances will pay tribute to veterans, highlighting their bravery and sacrifices. Attendees can look forward to vibrant displays of regalia, rhythmic drumming, and engaging with artisans. This Pow Wow offers a profound opportunity to honor veterans while celebrating Native American heritage and fostering community spirit. Everyone is welcome to attend!
1:30 p.m. – Tipi Raising at the Ranch
A Midsummer Fun Fest at Pals Brewing Company, hosted by the North Platte Powwow, will take place on Thursday, July 18th from 5-8 p.m.. Activities will include a dunk tank, corn hole tournament and sand volleyball tournament.
3 p.m. – Wichita War Dancer at the Ranch
7-9 a.m. – Pancake breakfast
8 a.m. – PTSD Awareness Walk (2.2 miles, twice around the parade route)
10:30 a.m. – Parade
11:30 a.m. – Buffalo Butter Burger Sale at the Lincoln County Historical Museum
12:45 p.m. – Mayor/Senator Welcome at the Ranch
6:30 p.m. – PTSD Presentation
10:30 a.m. – 3on3 Basketball Tournament at the D&N Event Center
11:30 a.m. – Quilts of Valor Presentation at the Ranch
A Missing Man table will be set up in the barn throughout the weekend, presented by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
A valid Nebraska State Park vehicle permit is required upon entry. Gates/doors open 1 hour before any event.
