NGPC Southeast District Birding Day

Join us at Iron Horse Trail Lake Recreation Area & Lores Branch WMA for a bird hike and speakers.

Meet at 7:30 a.m. at the parking lot at the east entrance on the south side of Iron Horse Trail Lake Recreation Area to divide into groups and hike looking for woodland, grassland and other bird species.

Speakers include Aaron Stalder, Michele Fuhrer Hurt, Kyle Smith and Krista Lang and will give updates on project and conservation updates for Iron Horse Trail lake and Lores Branch WMA.

Participants should bring their own lunch. Birders will reconvene at 11 a.m. to list species observed and listen to speakers. Bring bird ID guides, camera, insect repellent, waterproof boots and clothing appropriate for steep terrain and weather. Bring a chair to enjoy the speakers at noon. All ages are welcome. Event is held rain or shine.

Private vehicles will need a Nemaha NRD park pass, which is available on site.
