Have you met your neighbors yet? You know… The buzzy ones? The furry ones? Maybe even the slimy ones? Join Nebraska Game and Parks and the greater Omaha conservation community in celebrating our nature neighbors at Neighborhood Nature Fest on June 21, 2023!

This event will be held in Benson Park from 5:00pm to 7:30pm and is open to everyone. Benson Park is located at 7028 Military Ave, Omaha, NE 68104. Activities will focus on celebrating Pollinator Week, creating wildlife friendly neighborhoods and making room for our local species, even in a busy city. Designing habitat for pollinators, feeding your local birds, native wildlife demonstrations, outdoor yoga, going fishing, and learning kayaking are just a taste of what this event will offer. 

The first 50 families will receive a free bird feeder at the bird feeding station, and an adaptive pole may be available to those that live in an apartment setting.

Partners include Girls Inc., Hillside Solutions, Nebraska Master Naturalists, Monarch Joint Venture, Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska Forest Service, Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Papio-Missouri River NRD, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, Pollinator Alliance of the Heartland, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and more.

A few food trucks will also be on site for anyone looking for a tasty snack.
