“Conservation Works,” a new Nebraska Public Media series, explores how Nebraskans are restoring balance between people, land and wildlife.

Hosted by Carlee Moates, the six-episode series premieres at 8 p.m. CT Thursday, July 23, on Nebraska Public Media and the PBS app. Through powerful storytelling, stunning visuals and engaging conversations, “Conservation Works” highlights the partnerships helping conserve Nebraska’s land, water and wildlife.

Nebraska Game and Parks experts share their knowledge and conservation work in the following episodes:

• Episode 1 (July 23): John McKinney, Migratory Game Bird Program Manager, discusses migratory bird management.
• Episode 3 (August 6): Wildlife Biologist Kyle Schumacher explores habitat restoration that supports landowners, producers, livestock and wildlife.
• Episode 4 (August 13): Bighorn Sheep Program Manager Todd Nordeen discusses efforts to conserve Nebraska’s bighorn sheep.
• Episode 5 (August 20): Rivers and Streams Program Manager Thad Huenemann highlights projects restoring Nebraska’s cool-water streams.
• Episode 6 (August 27): Missouri River Program Manager Kirk Steffensen discusses conservation of the endangered pallid sturgeon.
