Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas – Field Training

July 22, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free
Join Xerces Society  and Nebraska Game and Parks in the field to learn how to participate in the Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas!
The Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas is a statewide community science project that tracks and conserves our native bumble bees. Anyone is welcome to join the Atlas, no experience is needed!
At this field training,  staff will teach the basics of participating–from swinging nets to identifying your bees. This event is a great way to learn how to use your insect net, collect data according to project methods, identify local bumble bees, connect with fellow volunteers, and get any lingering questions answered!
Registration required; event limited to 20 people: https://arcg.is/0KzSnn
We will meet at the Stiefel Johnson Trailhead (5217 SW 84th St, Denton, NE 68339). Supplies will be available for use.

The Nebraska Bumble Bee Atlas is coordinated by the Xerces Society and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, and is supported by the USFWS’s Wildlife, Sport Fish and Restoration Program.
