Please join us on September 28th, 2024 from 6:30-10PM at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve as we welcome our transition into the Fall season by exploring nature as the sun begins to set. There is so much to discover from dusk to nightfall as the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer. We will have a wide array of activities going on throughout the evening so there is sure to be something for everyone!
Activities will be scattered around the Prairie Pines property and there will be plenty of maps and signs to help guide you. Below is a lineup for the evening:
Live Reptiles & Amphibians- 6:30-8PM
Dusk to Nightfall Hikes- 6:30, 7, 7:30PM
Nocturnal Animal Pelts led by Wachiska Audubon- 6:30, 7, 7:30PM
Live Owl Presentations by Raptor Conservation Alliance- 7, 7:30, 8PM
Moth Lighting- 8-10PM
Bat Mist Netting- 8-10PM
Astronomy with Southeast Community College- 8-10PM

Due to parking limitations, registration will close at 230 guests
We recommend dressing in layers and checking the weather right before heading out as it may get chilly throughout the evening. If you wish to lay under the stars during astronomy, please consider bringing your own blanket or mat as we have a limited supply.
