“[A state park] is a physical expression of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…if this be true, great duty attaches itself to our work as park builders.” – T. W. Tinkham, Facilitating Foreman
Join us Saturday August 13th at 1pm for a special program about the life and legacy of members of CCC Company 4723. Wildcat Hills SRA owes its existence to the young men who lived and worked here as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps, who strove to preserve our landscape “in its primeval glory”. Come and learn about the massive projects they were able to accomplish, and get a glimpse into what camp life looked like during one of the most successful social and natural resource conservation movements in American history.
This program is FREE but a Nebraska Park Entry Permit is required.
