Legend and Murder at Rock Creek Station
July 11, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 5:00 pm

160 years ago, on the afternoon of July 12, 1861, young stock tender James Butler Hickok shot and killed station owner David McCanles. One man was buried. The other became a legend.
Join us July 10-11 to commemorate the events of 1861 with living history reenactors from across the region. Demonstrations will include blacksmithing, cooking, stock-tending and more.
Reenactments of the Hickok-McCanles incident will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10 and again 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 11.
Visitor Center is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
