All these questions answered and more, at Friday’s webinar of Invasive Insects.  Every state has species that they consider invasive; that is, not native and cause ecological and/or economic harm.  Nebraska is no different.  While other species might be bigger, or easier to detect, surveying for invasive insects is just as important, and a critical aspect of the work done at the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

About the presenter: Natalia Bjorklund is the State Entomologist and Program Manager of the Entomology and Plant Pest Program at NDA.   She was a horticulturist prior her completing her PhD in entomology, and starting at NDA, and finds that having knowledge of insect pests and their host plant is very advantageous.
