Interested in learning more about firearms and shooting sports? Not sure where to start? Join us for our Introduction to Firearms class at the Outdoor Heritage Complex at Platte River State Park! This class makes getting started in shooting very easy – and, thanks to NSSF partnership (National Shooting Sports Foundation), it’s only $15!

Here we will cover different types of firearms and their traditional uses for shooting sports and hunting. You will receive an educational introduction to the safe and recreational use of firearms, individual and group training, a rundown of shooting sports opportunities for all levels of interest, and a chance to shoot rifle, handgun, and shotgun!

This seminar offers a small group setting for students aged 16 and over. All equipment is provided. Please do not bring your own firearms or ammunition. Closed-neck shirts and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Students aged 18 and under must be accompanied by their legal parent/guardian.
