Please join us on the Cowboy Trail for a “First Day Hike” to celebrate the New Year! The trail is free to use, and everyone is welcome to join.

When: 1 p.m. CT

Where: Cowboy Trail Broken Bridge (just west of Norfolk)

Distance: One mile total (across the bridge and back)

Enjoy beautiful winter views of the Elkhorn River from the bridge, which is flat, kid-friendly and stroller-friendly (if no snow). Dogs are welcome on a six-foot leash. Please dress for the weather and bring water or a warm beverage.

After the hike, Game and Parks staff will be handing out Cowboy Trail stickers and cowbells to celebrate 30 years of Nebraska’s Cowboy Trail in 2025!
