First Day Hike at Mormon Island SRA

Join us on New Year’s Day for a sunset hike at Mormon Island SRA! We’ll be exploring the Chain-of-Lakes Trail for an easy, one mile hike on flat, mowed grass. Hikers can enjoy the wintry sunset along the beautiful Platte River and maybe catch some of the natural sights and sounds that the trail has to offer at dusk during wintertime.
Meet at the trailhead entrance near the west side of Bullhead Pond (North swimming beach) parking lot.
A 2025 Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry and can be purchased at the park entrance.
