Kick off the new year with a first day hike at beautiful Chadron State Park!

Join us exploring 2.5 miles of the Cabin Trail, which loops through the center of the park and follows the buttes. The trail is mostly flat, but expect a couple of steep inclines. The Cabin Loop Road will be an alternative for hikers that do not want inclines. Meet at the central building to begin the hike. There is no set starting time for this event; hikers are welcome to start at any time during daylight hours. The Cabin Trail hike takes approximately 1.5 hours.

After the hike, warm up with hot chocolate and cookies in the central building.

A valid 2025 park permit is required for entry.
